Weekly antimalarial suitable for longer trips for many travellers.
Prices may change — confirmed at your consultation.

Overview
Mefloquine is taken once a week, which can make it easier for longer trips. It is not suitable for everyone — a careful health review is needed before it is prescribed, particularly around mood, mental health and certain medical conditions.
Who should consider it
- Longer trips to malaria areas
- Travellers who prefer weekly dosing
- Pregnant travellers who need malaria prevention (when appropriate)
One tablet weekly, starting 2–3 weeks before entering a malaria area, throughout, and for 4 weeks after leaving.
Highly effective in suitable travellers.
Possible side effects
Vivid dreams, dizziness and mood changes can occur. Should not be used by people with a history of certain mental health conditions or seizures.
